God made rainy days so gardeners could get the housework done.

Moss Basket Instruction

Happy GTS and Happy 4th birthday to my daughter.  This week, we walked up to the local nursery and took part in a moss basket workshop.  I’m the type who buys my baskets every single year with the thought in mine that next year, I’d re-use the baskets … but I never do, so this is a step in the right direction.

Here is C. thinking seriously about plant placement:

The finished product (the nursery is going to look after it for a few weeks until it can come out of the greenhouse):

What’s blooming in your garden this week?

Gardeners, Plant and Nature lovers can join in every Sunday, visit As the Garden Grows for more information.

Hey, I bought a red leafed geranium last weekend too!
They are so festive and just think how great they will look with the oranges and yellows of late summer and fall.

That basket looks great. I had to start a Harry Potter Garden to get my daughter interested in gardening. Up till then she’d just roll her eyes when the topic of garden came up. Now she shows people her garden and is looking forward to buying more for it.

I love that you are getting your daughter involved in gardening! There are so many things we can do to encourage their interest in the garden. Not only is it fun, but it is a great learning experience as well!

Your basket looks great! It should bring you lots and lots of enjoyment this year and provide for possibilities in the future. :)
