First Blooms of 2008

During a brief break from the rain and wind, I took a walk outside today and discovered the first blooms of 2008:


and this funky looking bark:

I’m envious … you have blooms in your garden! That bark is really cool … I’m hope you’ll keep on posting – more flowers will be great.
